Inclusive Planning

This interactive training is for anyone in the community who wants to know more about emergency planning and disabilities. In an emergency, if one person is not prepared, everybody’s risk increases. If someone needs help and we can help them, we should. In either case, we should be prepared for emergencies and prepared to offer basic assistance. Trainers are people with disabilities who have been in emergencies and people who have been in emergencies with people who have disabilities. This course will provide information about :

  • Being Prepared to help.
  • Communication Strategies.
  • Do’s and Don’ts.
  • Liability, risk and protection.
  • Best Practices.

Bystander Awareness

Bystander Awareness workshops prepare adults to understand, identify and report concerns about kids, adults, family, coworkers or strangers. Participants will learn why bystander awareness is so important to preventing targeted violence in schools. The workshop includes an overview of what concerning behavior might look like, when to report, where to report, what to report and what to expect after a report has been made. The workshops are available and modified for parents and family, community members, professionals and other stakeholders.

Teen Bystanders

This interactive workshop is for students 12 and up and parents/guardians or caregivers. It is a modified version of the bystander awareness workshop focused on exploring why kids do or don’t want to tell when they think or know someone is in trouble or going to cause trouble. This is a guided workshop that allows students to take the lead within structured activities. All participants will learn about situational awareness, when to report and identify ways to report concerns. Students must have a parent or guardian with them.

All services are billed on an hourly rate and hours will be determined on a case by case basis. I offer a sliding scale. I know many parents would sell a kidney (I am not endorsing, nor do I condone selling organs, it was a metaphor!) to make sure their kids are safe and treated well. No need to contemplate selling organs. I will work with you.
